Media walls · Cheadle & Greater Manchester
Media walls, built from the frame up.
A media wall gives the TV, fire, speakers and ornaments a proper home and hides every cable. We build it into your room: a timber frame, wired as we go, boarded and fully plastered, then finished with the lighting, shelving and details you choose.

Frame to finish
What a media wall actually is
It's a new wall built in front of your existing one, deep enough to recess the TV, an electric fire, shelves and lighting, so nothing sticks out and no wires show.
We build the frame, run the cables and sockets inside it, board it, then skim it so it looks like it was always part of the house. Because it's plastered rather than screwed together from panels, you can paint it any colour you like and change it later.
Most customers come to us with a photo they've seen online. We'll measure your room and tell you honestly what fits: how wide the fire can be, where the TV sits at a comfortable height, and how deep the wall needs to be.
Your wall, your choice
Choose the parts you want
Every media wall is different. These are the pieces most people pick from.
Recessed TV
The TV sits in a recess or flat to the wall, with the bracket fixed into solid timber and the cables hidden inside.
Electric fire
A wide electric fire set into the wall, with the opening built to the size of the model you choose.
Shelves & niches
Lit alcoves either side, floating shelves or display niches for ornaments, speakers and games consoles.
Slats, stone & arches
Oak or painted slat panels, stone-effect panels or an arch, to make the wall the feature of the room.
LED lighting
Strip lights in the niches, behind the TV or under a floating plinth, positioned before the boards go on.
Sockets & TV points
Power, aerial and HDMI where the TV, fire and boxes need them, all planned before the wall is plastered.
Why it still looks right in five years
Any media wall looks good on day one
The difference shows later: cracks along the board joints, a TV that starts to sag, a fire that runs hot. These are the parts we take our time over.
A solid frame
The frame is fixed firmly to the floor, ceiling and wall, with extra timber where the TV bracket and shelves will be fixed.
Fully plastered
Boards are taped and skimmed all over, not just filled at the joints, so you get a smooth wall with no lines showing through the paint.
Fire fitted to the instructions
Electric fires come with rules about space and airflow. The recess is built to the manufacturer's measurements, not guessed.
Thinking about next time
We plan how a new cable can get through later, so swapping the TV or adding a console doesn't mean cutting into a finished wall.

Media wall questions
What people usually ask first
Most of the time goes on the frame and the plaster. Fresh plaster has to dry before it's painted, so allow for that in your plans. You'll get the timescale with your quote.
We can fit a fire you've bought, or help you choose one. Either way, we need the exact model before we build, because the opening is made to its measurements.
Most sizes, as long as the wall is wide enough. We'll measure the room and the TV and set the height so it's comfortable to watch from where you sit.
A little. The wall has to be deep enough for the fire and the recesses, and that depth depends on the fire you choose. We'll tell you exactly how far it comes out before we start.
Yes. It's a plastered wall, so you can paint it like any other wall in the house.
Media walls work in living rooms, bedrooms and open-plan spaces. If there's an old fireplace or a chimney breast, Amir will look at it at the visit and explain the options.
