Carpentry & joinery · Cheadle & Greater Manchester
Carpentry and joinery for every room in the house.
Doors hung and repaired, skirting and architrave, wall panelling, stud walls, boxing-in, shelving and cupboards, made to fit rooms that are never quite square. Joinery runs through everything we do, from kitchens and wardrobes to media walls.

Big jobs and small ones
The small jobs we still turn up for
Plenty of our Checkatrade reviews are for jobs that took a day or less: a door that wouldn't close, a run of skirting, a cupboard round a boiler. We take those as seriously as a full kitchen.
We'll also tell you honestly when something can be repaired instead of replaced. One customer saved over £100 because two of their doors only needed fixing.
On bigger projects, carpentry is what ties everything together: new door linings after a wall is opened up, skirting fitted after a new floor, panelling on the stairs once the plastering is done.
What we do
Carpentry and joinery work
Internal doors
New doors hung, old doors rehung or eased, doors trimmed after new flooring, and new handles, hinges and latches fitted.
Door frames & linings
New linings and frames, including where a doorway is moved or widened between two rooms.
Skirting & architrave
Fitted, mitred and scribed to uneven floors and walls, ready for painting.
Wall panelling
Shaker-style and other panelling for halls, stairs, bedrooms and feature walls.
Stud walls & boxing-in
Timber stud walls to divide a room, and boxing-in for pipes, cables and soil stacks, ready for plastering.
Shelving & cupboards
Shelves, alcove cupboards, under-stairs storage and made-to-measure units. Fitted storage
The part you don't see
Joinery that fits older houses
Most homes in Greater Manchester have walls that lean and floors that dip. Good joinery follows the room instead of leaving gaps for the decorator to fill.
Scribed, not filled
Skirting, panels and door linings are cut to the real line of the floor and walls, rather than gaps filled with caulk.
Doors that close properly
Doors are hung so the gap round them is even and they latch without slamming, and they're hung after any new flooring is down.
Fixed into something solid
Shelves, panelling and cupboards are fixed into studs, joists or proper wall fixings, so they don't work loose.
Ready for paint
Nail holes filled, joints tight and edges sanded, so the paint finish looks clean.
In our customers' words
Precise, and honest about what's needed
He also pointed out ways we could save money. 2 doors could be fixed instead of replaced, saving us over £100.
Very high quality work completed. It is precise to the millimetre!
Carpentry questions
What people usually ask first
Often, yes. Doors that stick, won't latch or have loose hinges can usually be put right. If a door really does need replacing, we'll tell you why.
Yes. New flooring is often thicker than the old, so doors need trimming at the bottom to open freely. We do this as part of our own flooring jobs too.
Opening up and widening doorways between rooms is work we do. If the wall is load-bearing, it needs a structural engineer's calculations, a suitable beam or lintel, and building control involved. Amir will look at the wall at the visit and explain what's needed.
Yes, on stairs, in hallways, bedrooms and living rooms. Panelling is fitted, filled and caulked ready for painting, or we can paint it for you.
Yes. Send a photo on WhatsApp and we'll tell you what's involved. A door, a shelf or a run of skirting is part of what we do.
